GOLDLARK
In about 2016, I met the Swedish songwriter Bertil Goldberg for the first time, in the small Thai town of Bang Saray. We started writing some songs together, often in a cosy little French bistro on the outskirts of Pattaya, about the things that we saw around us in this infamous city devoted to pleasure. We developed it into a recording project, and recorded our first versions in the state-of-the-art Karma Studio in Bang Saray, about 500 metres from the sea. Goldlark was born . . .
Ancient Land
The rest of the recording was done at Ocean Wave Studios on the beachfront in Pattaya. Pattaya has a very well-known Walking Street, but the small town of Bang Saray, where the project was born, also has a Walking Street, so Songs from Walking Street seemed like an appropriate name for our first album. It was released by Ocean Wave Studios, and is available on Apple Music, Spotify, iTunes and Youtube. Our second album, Happy Love, appeared a few years later in 2021.
Four of my original songs appeared on these two albums: Ancient Land, Stoned Gecko, Ladyboy and Cherry Lips.
